We package and sell a collection of accessory-making kits designed by Aspire; a job training and employment program of Social Motion Skills, a Houston non-profit 501(c)3 serving individuals with autism and similar special needs.
Each Aspire CREATE kit comes with the tools and components required to create one or more of Aspire’s most popular products, along with access to step-by-step instructional videos and guides. Once created, the products can be sold by you or your organization at a price and location of your choosing.
To provide a solution that enables and empowers those with autism and similar special needs, to CREATE a future where they are part of a community, contributing to society, and earning an income. We aim to do this in a number of ways:
We empower those impacted by IDD to become artisans and entrepreneurs. The Aspire CREATE business model will provide an opportunity for personal growth, a source of income, and a sense of purpose. We provide a solution for people with IDD who are seeking employment but who are unable to participate in a program such as Aspire.
CREATE A COMMUNITY
Those who purchase our kits will become Aspire CREATE Ambassadors. We facilitate an online networking and support group for artisans and ambassadors to share their stories of success, to ask questions and to exchange ideas.
Aspire CREATE orders generate work and revenue for the Aspire artisans who prepare and assemble the kits; this helps ensure the Aspire program continues to thrive. All income generated through Aspire CREATE will be reinvested into the Aspire program to cover operational expenses, salaries, and product research and development.
We offer our kits to a variety of audiences, in addition to those within the IDD community. Aspire CREATE is a platform for creating conversation and raising awareness around the often-unrealized talents of those with autism and other special needs.
Aspire is a work transition program of Social Motion Skills. The program teaches young adults with autism and similar special needs, transferrable business skills. Aspire Artisans learn light manufacturing, retail and customer service skills as they create, produce, embellish, assemble, package, sell, and ship accessories, crafts, home goods, laser-engraved specialty products and corporate gift items.
Aspire provides a solution to what is known as the “services cliff” for young adults with autism and similar disabilities as they age out of supported school-based environments. Aspire provides job-training, wages, and a sense of community to individuals as they learn sustainable job skills and independent living skills.
To date, Aspire has sold over $430,000.00 worth of product at local markets and online at www.aspireaccessories.com). The program has paid in excess of $125,000 in wages to 37 young adults with autism and similar special needs. 100% of proceeds are reinvested into the program to sustain the workshop and to pay artisans and teaching staff.
